I am thinking about going all netbook with a 1 TB external as additional storage and gmail as document backup. I think I will outsource photo editing to university computer labs.

w/ 2 gig RAM upgrade on all ($20)

S10 ($350)

w/ 6 cell ($80)

$450 total (and one extra 3 cell battery)

asus ($385) best battery life on the market as far as I can tell. But looks like a toy.

$405 total

Samsung ($400) nicer looking body, less battery life

$420 total

I would really like a netbook with a joystick mouse or whatever they call those things. I would like to have a device that I did not need to carry the power cord with me wherever I go. I will probably wait a month or two.

The HP Mini 2140 is the best netbook that I've used so far.
The keyboard is very good, and works almost like a normal keyboard.

No trackpoint though ... But very few netbooks (Or notebooks for that matter) have that ...

I have the s10.

It's battery life is weak sauce and the tab key is too small.

But otherwise I am happy with it.
