freaks and geeks - one season long. makes you nostalgic for a time you didn't live through. great characterization. like a really long and much, much better version of fast times at ridgemont high or dazed and confused
six feet under - a really watchable show... has the feel of a really long "american beauty". an awesome show to get high on with your roomates and watch if you are in college. i remember getting to the end of season two and being unbelievably grateful there was so much more of this series left to watch.
entourage - just a lot of fun. its the kind of life you're not sure you want to live (fast cars and slutty girls and making semi-not-sold-out hollywood movies) its fun to observe for a few seasons. its kind of the tv show equivalent of a good bling bling rap cd
nip tuck - the first few (3 or 4) seasons of this show are just amazing. the story lines are great, the characters are hilarious. a soap opera for men. this is another show to watch with friends (getting high not as compatible with this one)
lost - if you are a sucker for shows that slowly reveal and have plot twists and are all just one big mystery you can dissect forever and ever on message boards and "at the water cooler"... this is it. this is the tv show equivalent of "myst" the pc game
peep show - the funniest tv show i've ever seen. 2 british guys, both losers (one nerd and one unemployable shitty electronic music musician) try their best at relationships and life as roomates. i can't say enough about this show. the kind of show that will make you laugh so hard and so long you have to pause and rewind. the only show that even comes close would be the UK office

Bob's Burgers is a decent show. It seems to be hitting its stride in the past few episodes, so hopefully it gets renewed for a second season. Loren Bouchard needs more respect, damnit!
It's ok, but I don't like that I range from really liking to really disliking one character depending on the episode. It would be nice if there was a little more consistency in the personalities.
Yeah, they do tend to change a bit every episode. I've been thinking it's just the writers trying to get all the characters fleshed out and seeing what works. Hopefully they'll manage to get things worked out soon.
I always wonder how shows like that usually end up running once the routine has been figured out...I mean, if one character is usually left up to one writer, another to a different writer, etc.

Those one-liners are the reason I sometimes watch/enjoy Futurama!
Writers on television shows are credited as Producers for a reason. They're all on the payroll, and all write individual scripts, with others doing rewrites occasionally, and the scripts are selected on an individual basis. Usually. That's the case with Futurama, and probably Bob's Burgers. Loren Bouchard's other show, Doctor Katz, had a really focused feel to it. This was due to the show being dialogue-driven and with a small crew of writers. Larger shows have teams of writers (like in 30 Rock), so you can get really jarring changes in characters or plot from time to time ... that's what I think is up with Bob's Burgers. Maybe not, I could be wrong, but either way it got renewed for a second season, so let's see!

i just can't get enough of futurama, but i agree that it isn't as good as some of the old ones.
some breaking bad episodes did try me, but overall it's just such a compelling show. the characters in particular.
